V1.70 Update
What’s New in Version 1.70

Auto Registration
A new option has been created in the license menu called Automatic Registration. New users will be able to select this option, fill in a short form and click submit. Their information is then automatically sent to Quest via the Internet and an unlock code is installed on their PC without having to manually type registration codes or enter unlock codes. Unlock codes are only issued if the serial number of their software and type of license they are entitled to is in our database. At least initially, this service is not available to international customers that have purchased QSP through a licensed international dealer. This is due to the fact that Quest does not presently have access to this information from international dealers so that it can be placed in our registration database.

Install requires a serial number
The installation process now prompts for a serial number to be entered during the install. This serial number is used for the new streamlined auto registration process. Once entered, the serial number is stored in the registry.

Vibration Applet Current Setup Option
The current setup checkbox has been removed from the vibration setup dialog.  This was done to avoid confusion over how the setup gets applied to subsequent tests captured by the instrument.

Vibration Applet Combined Test Delete Feature
The ability to delete tests within a combined test was added back into QSP.  This feature was deactivated in an earlier version until corrections could be made to the way deletions were handled.

Vibration Applet Reports
The vibration reports were showing no data for the combined tests and showing multiple tests for single tests.  The problem was how the report generator filtered its tests.  This has been corrected.

Vibration Applet Whole Body Calculator
On the values tab within a vibration test, a whole body calculator has been added.  The exposure is calculated by using the sum factors in the instruments setup during that test.  We now offer a Basic method and VDV method.  VDV method is required by the EC Directive whenever the measured crest factor exceeds 9.

Heat Stress Applet QT-II Wording
One of the QT-II download dialogs was worded incorrectly.  The instructions were to press the download button on the QT-II before pressing the continue/listen button in QSP.  The instructions were reversed to fix the problem.

Communication Ports Addition
Communication ports 5-9 were added.

Heat Stress Acclimation Issue
The heat stress test stay times form was not updating correctly when unacclimated was selected.

  • In non-English language versions the logging storage interval did not get correctly stored during setup.

Vibration Bugs:

  • When vibration modes are changed in the setup dialog some of the proper default settings were not changed.

Sound Bugs:

  • Tests that included no data points produced reports in which summary and setup information were blank.
  • On instrument setup page, under the "Integration Threshold" and "Trigger" tabs, some controls were not enabled after loading a setup file.
  • On the 1900 SLM QSP failed to compensate for low sensitivity microphones.

Noise Bugs:

  • NoisePro datalogging sessions that contained a test that started exactly at the end time of the previous test produced a data conversion error message.
  • With NoisePro’s when auto-run was set up in the Date mode, the unit was set to the Timed Run mode.
  • In NoisePro’s the secure code did not get properly enabled or programmed after saving and reopening the setup file.

In this update, support was added for NoisePro TM dosimeters, currently NoisePro support is only available in English, other languages will available in future upgrades.

Universal Bugs Resolved:

  • If the user opens a file that is not in one of the predefined folders, the next time they want to open a file they have to navigate to the previous location again.
  • Displaying test information in a data file that contains many tests may result in QSP crashing. This is a bug in the Microsoft Jet 4.0 database engine used with QSP. Jet 4.0 Service Pack 6, which fixes the problem, is part of the QSP 1.40 installation.

V1.01 Update
In this update fixes are provided for the following list of software bugs.

General Bugs Resolved:

  • When viewing a chart in a data file, if you right click on a line on the chart type and change it to a bar chart the time scale disappears and does not return when changing back to a line chart.
  • Run times greater than 24 hours are inaccurate. For example, if a test is run for 28 hours and 30 minutes, run time is shown as 4 hours and 30 minutes, not 1 day 4 hours and 30 minutes.
  • In Windows 98 if you add entries to the User and/or Instrument database exit QSP and reopen the program those entries previously entered are not there.
  • In the export function of the report window a choice exists to export the report as an HTML file, but when searching for the result it does not exist on the system.
  • When data is downloaded from an instrument to QSP, QSP creates a temporary file to hold the data until the user saves it. Shortcuts to those temporary files appear on the users desktop and must be manually removed.
  • When data is downloaded from an instrument to QSP, QSP creates a temporary file to hold the data until the user saves it. Shortcuts to those temporary files appear on the users desktop and must be manually removed.
  • Using the "Save As" option not only creates a new file with the assigned name, but also overwrites the old file as well.
  • In its initial release QSP was not to use re-usable reference codes, so copying them to the clipboard was not done. This has been rethought and reference codes are now re-usable. Auto copying them to the clipboard would make reuse by the user an easier option.

Gas Monitor Bugs Resolved:

  • In both the single gas and multi-gas loggers CO, H2S, and NH3 toxic sensors could have their alarm values programmed incorrectly by QSP. It is a decimal point positioning problem. On these sensors that display units in XXX., QSP programs the alarm values as XX.x.
  • Gives units for O2 display as ppm, not %.
  • The reports show data for alarms in many of the tests however, if you look at the corresponding alarm tab for each test there may or may not be any alarms shown. Also, in the alarms tab there is sometimes more than one alarm listed by number, but no detail for the alarms.
  • Some sensor configurations on multigas units that contain less than four sensors result in QSP reporting back a "Communication Error".
  • On the reports page all the sensor information is present except the sensor serial number.

Heat Stress Monitor Bugs Resolved:

  • QSP crashes with message "Invalid page fault in module MFC42.DLL" when retrieving data from QT-2 or QT-15.

IAQ Monitor Bugs Resolved:

  • When creating a new setup file for the aq-5000 if the sample rate is set to 1 minute sample and the file is saved and then re-opened, the restored sample rate shown is the default 1 second. However, the setup file still denotes a sample rate of 1 minute. All other sample rates are correct when opening the setup file.
  • When setting up the analog input channel through QSP the scaling between QSP and the unit does not match.
  • If the reports are selected to print out in Celsius the number changes to Celsius, but the designator stays as (F)ahrenheit.

Noise Dosimeter/Sound Level Meter Bugs Resolved:

  • The noise applet has a field shown in the values tab that is Pa2Sec or Pa2Hr. This field is currently labeled with dB for units. It should not have a units label at all since it is implicit in the field that it is in seconds.
  • Problems here are various. QSP will turn off the meter halfway through retrieving the setup. QSP will report unit set up for PEAK response, when unit is set for FAST. QSP will report various display options turned on that are not. Selected in the unit.
  • In the Q-300 applet, the Projected Dose calculations under the individual tests are not correct.
  • When sending settings to a Q-300 that has data in it, QSP warns that further action will reset the unit and it appears to proceed correctly. But immediate retrieval of the setting reveals that the setup was not changed nor was the unit reset.
  • When selecting a one-minute logging interval in QSP, QSP will program the unit for a zero interval. All other intervals appear to program correctly.
  • Not all the pertinent information relating to date and time gets reported in the reports.
  • Security code sent to unit by QSP is not getting changed during this setup operation.

V1.01 Installation Instructions:

  1. Click here to download and select "Save this program to disk". Save the file "QUPV101.exe" to your desktop.
  2. From your desktop double click on "QUPv101.exe" file to start the installation.
